I find this product to be solid. Of course when you buy any neoprene product you will probably need to air it out for a day. I had to do the same thing with a case for my netbook. But once the smell airs out it isn't a factor any more. When I recharged my reader using the AC adapter, it worked just fine. The reader had no issues, the adapter stayed cool to the touch, and it was just as effective as the USB cable that comes with the reader.
The case is a very nice fit. Easy to get the reader into and out of. I probably won't get much of a chance to test the car adapter (I prefer not to juggle electronics when driving) but if it is as good as the AC adapter, it should be fine.
The small carabiner they send is also an amusing item. I put it to use right away.
Overall this seems like a good product. -- Good product
Bought it, tossed it in the trash in the garage. It smelled like old rubber tires. It gave me a headache. -- Yuk
