Although I think this would have been exactly what I was looking for if it was the right size, the newest Kindle (Kindle 3) does not fit! The Kindle holders are on the inside corners of this cover so this new Kindle being smaller can only be held in place by at most 2 of the corner holders, and even then it usually comes free of one of them anyway, and starts moving around and potentially falling out. I was thrown off by the description where it says "Fits 6" Display". The newest Kindle also has a 6" display so I thought "Great - this will be perfect". This being my first Kindle, I didn't know it's actually a Kindle 3 as it's just called the "New" Kindle by Amazon.
It's a great item for the price if you have one of the older, larger Kindle 2's. Hopefully they will make a new one for the newest Kindle. For me, I just purchased the $34.99 real leather cover. I think that will fit as it attaches on the spine via the holes in the Kindle. I'm sure it's terrific cover, but I didn't really need something so "nice" I just wanted something to hold and protect it .... -- Newest Kindle (Kindle 3) does NOT fit
I researched the different Kindle covers and the prices ranged from $10 to more than $50. Each had their great features but it seemed each were missing something important found on another cover, so I finally decided to settle for this one. I figured if it didn't work, I would only be out of a few bucks. Well I was surprisingly happy with this purchase. First, the faux leather looks nices. It feels pretty durable. It holds the Kindle securely, all ports are available for easy plug up, the front flap folds back and the magnetic snap bends back to secure it to the back flap for easy holding and reading. The only slight problem was when bending back the first time, whatever material is inside (feels like some kind of heavy cardboard) didn't bend well but I fixed that by manually creasing a fold into the cover. Now when I fold it back, it folds on that crease. I would highly recommend this item if you want a holder that does the job without breaking the piggy. -- Great buy!
The J-Tech Kindle case looks nice and feels relatively durable. I'm glad I purchased it over some of the other, more expensive models. It does seem odd, however, that the strap buttons onto the back of the case. -- Nifty Kindle Case
